- Mandy, Phil, and Pascal will share problem handling and resolution.
- Verify problems within the subgroup before to reporting it to the Aleph 18 list.
- Include module and library in the subject heading when reporting a problem, ex.
NDU CIRC: Cannot view global record
SMC ACQ: Funds allocation error
BCI CR: Course not showing up with items
HCC BIB: Dewey indexes sorting improperly
- Version 17/18 enhancements, the majority of the changes affect Circulation and the WEB OPAC, however, there are six (6) that will affect our workflow, they are:
- Serial publication patterns:
i) ALEPH now supports the $y regularity pattern for combined enumeration and chronology codes (ver.18).
- Cataloging module:
ii) We will be able to move a HOL record including attached items, if any, to another BIB record as long as orders are not attached and the appropriate table is configured correctly (ver.18).
iii) A new command has been added to the Cataloging menu to enable cycling through open records, again with the appropriate table setting (ver.18).
iv) Split cataloging editor, up until now, if a split record editor was used (that is, two panes), an empty pane was populated only if it was in focus. Now, if a split record editor is used and one of the panes is occupied by a record, the empty pane will be populated by the next open record (ver.18).
v) A Catalog button has been added to the Browse screen (in all GUI’s). As long as the number of selected eadings does not exceed 20, or the accumulative number of documents associated with the selected heading does not exceed 100, the documents are pushed through to the cataloging editor (ver.17).
- Items module:
vi) Item deletion in all modules has been enhanced to enable users to delete more than one item at a time by selecting multiple items (ver.18).
