Our next honoree has been described as always appearing calm and cheerful -even when she might be screaming on the inside and when computers are crashing all around her on the outside. Year after year, she has been praised for combining strong interpersonal skills with terrific technical talents. This year her handling of a truly demanding work load showcased her organizational and communication skills. During one of her Department's busiest periods, she covered many responsibilities for a colleague who was out on extended sick leave. Even as she assumed these responsibilities, she generated an impressive variety of communications. Through the DCNS newsletter, librarywide phone and e-mail alerts, specialized training sessions, and webpage updates for ISDA, DCNS, DCCS, and Assyst - she helped all of us stay informed about long-term directions and immediate crises that might effect our use of desk top computers. As chair of the ISDA IT Skills Group, she orchestrated the logistics, fanned the momentum, and offered three successful sessions. Today we honor a colleague who has made learning the difficult easy, Sandi Collins. |
