Hesburgh Library Moving Team

The accomplishments of many groups and individuals are often hidden from public view. Not so with our final honorees, Our final group award goes to a group whose work has been highly visible. This team accomplished one the most physically challenging jobs that the Library has faced in the last 40 years – the move of 600,000 volumes from the tower to the newly remodeled lower level. Without the help of a moving company, the Hesburgh stack maintenance staff with the aid of a few extraordinary temporary staff completed the project under budget and under schedule. .....and they reportedly did this with a smile. Today we congratulate a library team that’s ready for the next Survivor’s challenge–the Hesburgh Library Moving Team:
