Sue Cierzniak
Employee Recognition Winner 2002
Our final individual award goes to an employee who has served library
users for a long time. First hired in 1983, she has been a model of
good service for nearly twenty years. The service that she offers patrons
reflects her genuine respect and understanding for their work. She knows
her unit’s policies and procedures and is adept at using them
in ways that meet changing patron needs. She endeavors to build rapport
with the users and is tactful and objective in addressing demanding
patrons. She welcomes new challenges and takes advantage of educational
opportunities.
Described by her nominator as one of the library’s Silent Leaders,
she has helped shape library services. Some of this library’s
highest scores in this year’s LibQUAL survey were in the area
of service attitude.
Today, we honor one of the staff who has demonstrated this
attitude day after day – Sue Cierzniak.
