Minutes of the September 26, 2006 TERMinators meeting

Present: Mary, Nastia, Marina, Chris, Ben, Tom, Hector

We discussed the revised "Guidelines for assigning resources to the DDW pages." While we agreed on the principles articulated in the document, we felt it was not as clear and well organized as it could be. Marina volunteered to recast the document, with collection development librarians as the target audience, and covering the differences in guidelines for the four general pages and subject pages.

We talked about next steps. Tom has met with Linda Sharp and Reference to discuss TERMinators' review of the General and Multidisciplinary resources. Both agreed with our assessment. Tom talked to Laura F. about getting on the agenda for the next Collection Development Forum, tentatively scheduled for October. We decided to email NDLIBWWW, describing our process, sharing the guidelines and the list of General and Multidisciplinary resources we are proposing to keep, giving people a week to comment. Tom will draft an email, to be sent out after we approve the revised "Guidelines for assigning resources to the DDW pages." It was suggested that emailing the Collection Development Forum list could be an alternative to meeting with the group.

We then reviewed the 35 resources in the Science and Technology (General) list and decided to keep 17.

Currently there are no additional TERMinators meetings scheduled. Tom will schedule the next TERMinators' meeting for the third week in October.
