Minutes of the June 6, 2006 TERMinators meeting

Present: H. Escobar, N. Guimaraes, M. Lehman, T. Lehman, C. Poehlmann, M. Smyth.

Tom introduced Hector as one of the new members of TERMinators but reminded us that we still have another slot to fill from Reference. After a brief discussion, Tom said he would contact Jessica Kayongo to see if she might be interested. Her involvement within Collection Development would also be a great asset to have.

We discussed a project for TERMinators to accomplish this coming year. We plan to review the subject pages to get an overview of how resources are being applied and see whether any changes should be considered. We will begin with the General & Multidisciplinary page. Tom mentioned he listed 48 resources on the General & Multidisciplinary webpage, but only 10 are actually considered general or multidisciplinary.

Tom shared a statement he drafted to be used as a guide for what should be included on the General & Multidisciplinary page. Hector will share and get feedback from individuals in Reference at their next meeting and then will share at the next TERMinators meeting. Once resources are re-examined for the General & Multidisciplinary page, we will proceed with the review of the subject pages, beginning with the three General category pages, e.g. Arts & Humanities (General).
