Minutes of the May 27, 2005 TERMinators meeting

In attendance: Tom Lehman, Kathie Ryan-Zeugner, Mark Dehmlow, Laurie McGowan, Alan Krieger, Mary Lehman, Cody Jones

Minutes:

1) Review of email proposing to delete 'Electronic Books and Texts' from selected resources. Two changes were made to email text:

a) present wording of "we will not delete the term from a particular resource if there are objections" changed to a request for selectors to contact the group with questions, suggestions or further issues to discuss;
b) addition of note explaining why most changes were made (in most cases, more specific facets and terms were deemed more appropriate and helpful to users).

2) Examination and addition of Nastia's suggested deletions of 'Electronic Books and Texts'. Resources accepted for deletion were:

IRRC -- Tom Lehman to confer with Steve Hayes about better descriptors
Latin American Intelligence services
Primary Search EBSCO -- add 'Research Tools: Indexes and Abstracts' instead
ERIC (EBSCO)
Archives USA
CQ's Politics in America

The only resource proposed by Nastia not to be accepted yet for deletion is 'NBER'. Tom Lehman will confer with Nastia on issues that still need to be clarified for this resource. A full-text flag was suggested for this resource.

3) Review of resources suggested for listing of 'Multimedia'.

The following resources were accepted for listing with the multimedia term:

Deutsche Geshichte von 1949 bis zur Gegenwart
Gallica
Immigrant Experience
On Common Ground

Acceptance of the following resources is still pending, following a review by assigned committee members:

Fellowship of Freedom -- Laurie to assess
Great Buildings Collection -- Cody to assess

The following resource was rejected:

Television News Archive -- video predominates, suggested addition of 'Organizations: Archives'
