Minutes of 1/12/05 TERMinators meeting

Present: Tom Lehman, Mary Lehman, Alan Krieger, Nastia Guimaraes, Mark Dehmlow, Kathie Ryan-Zeugner, Cheri Smith

1. The group defined the term "Tests" that was somehow missed in the process.

2. Tom presented a draft of the document he created that outlined the procedure for handling vocabulary change requests. After a discussion, several suggestions were made. Please find attached the updated version of the procedure.

The group decided that all the requests should be discussed on a NDLIBWWW listserv, which exists for communication of the library website related topics and issues. All the TERMinators members should be subscribed to the list.

To subscribe to the NDLIBWWW list, send an e-mail to listserv@listserv.nd.edu . Leave the subject line blank. In the body of the e-mail, include the following: SUBSCRIBE NDLIBWWW [your name here; e.g. Karl Marx].

A ULON will be sent out to the Libraries' community letting people know how to request changes/additions to the existing DDW vocabulary and how to subscribe to the listserv.

3. Next, the group discussed the steps in the process of implementing the changes to the existing DDW vocabulary. Tom distributed the document that organized the process in a logical way. After review of the document by the group, changes were suggested. Please find attached the updated version of the process.

4. Finally, a date for Collection Development Forum was named as February 24. Cheri will be undertaking the task of setting the meeting up.
